Rajiv Balakrishnan reviews Dahaad – streaming on Prime
Dahaad streaming on Prime is a good watch. Starring Sonakshi Sinha and Vijay Verma, it outlines the story of a serial killer Anand who targets lonely single women, with promise of a marriage and then kills them using cyanide. Based on the real life story of Cyanide Mohan, this slow burner touches upon some pressing issues in our society that lays emphasis on Girls having to settle down into a married life early.
Sonakshi Sinha as the investigating cop Anjali Bhaati is brilliant but Vijay Varma as the psychopath killer who lives an otherwise normal life steals the show. Set in the locales of Rajasthan the serial also touches upon the caste and religious divide. Hoping that there is a second season.
